The problem with Twitter – Washington Post (blog)

If you ever search about an issue, then filter for your connections talking about that issue, with thousands of followers you will still discover most people that you know are not involved in the most active “trending” discussions. In other words … trends on twitter do not represent popular opinion, just the opinions of those wanting to be heard more than others.

I’m not going back to Twitter. Or rather, I’m not going back to Twitter until I find a way to separate the wheat from the chaff. And on twitter there is alot of chaff.
